HES 4500-110 4500 Replacemnt Strike Plate, Fits 1006 Series Jamb Cut Out

The 4500-110 is a replacement faceplate for the HES 4500 electric strike, cut to drop into a 1006 Series jamb prep. It comes in a black finish. If you already have a 1006 cutout in the frame and you are putting a 4500 body in it, this is the plate that covers the opening without reworking the jamb.

That is exactly what the 4500-110 is for. It is a 4500 faceplate machined to the 1006 Series jamb cut out, so the existing frame prep is reused. Anything beyond the faceplate and jamb opening (wiring, voltage, latch fit) is on the 4500 strike body itself, not the plate.

No other brand's plate is written to the 1006 jamb cut out. The HES 4500-110 is the 4500 replacement strike plate made to fit the 1006 series jamb prep, in black finish, and the cut out is what makes it fit - a plate drilled and shaped for a different manufacturer's prep will not sit in that opening. The nearby Securitron accessory parts, the SAM Surface Mount Kit Accessories and the SWB SAM Wood Bracket, are mounting hardware for surface mounted devices rather than faceplates for a mortised jamb prep, so they solve a different problem. For a 1006 cut out, order the plate built for it.

Commercial. The 4500-110 faceplate is a Grade 1 commercial part, which is the top ANSI/BHMA durability tier and the one specified for office buildings, schools and healthcare openings rather than homes.

Depends what the job needs. For power to feed a strike, the Adams Rite 4605 transformer takes 115 VAC to 12/24 VAC with a 40 volt-amp output. For a door loop transfer, the RCI 9500/9501 mortise pin transfer is rated 1.5A at 24VAC. None of those substitute for a 4500 faceplate, they are the other pieces of the same opening.

Only if that frame already carries the 1006 Series jamb cut out, since the 4500-110 is machined to that specific prep. Aluminum storefront jambs are usually prepped for narrow strikes instead. They cover different devices. The HES 4500-110 is the faceplate for a 4500 electric strike, sitting in the jamb over the strike body where the latch enters. The Dortronics 6510/COV is an anti-tamper alarm cover for 6500 series pull stations and 5000 series push buttons - it guards a wall mounted exit control, not a strike in the frame. If the part that is damaged or missing is the plate on the door jamb, the 6510/COV is not a substitute.

The HES 4500-110 carries a Grade 1 rating for commercial use, while the Securitron Glass Door Accessories in the Glass Door Series are rated Grade 2. Facilities standardizing an opening to Grade 1 should confirm each part in the assembly carries that rating, since the grade of the overall opening follows its lowest rated component. The glass door accessories are also intended for glass door applications rather than a mortised hollow metal or wood jamb, which is where the 4500 faceplate goes.

Black, and that is the only version of the 4500-110. If the rest of your frame hardware is satin chrome or brass, this plate will not match it, so on a visible jamb face you want a different faceplate part number for that finish.
