Houzer BG-1208 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sinks does the BG-1208 bottom grid actually fit?
The BG-1208 is sized for two Houzer trough sinks only: the CTB-2385 and the CTB-3285. It is not a universal grid. If your bowl is any other model, the 12 x 8-3/8 inch footprint will either rattle around or not drop in at all, so match the sink model number before ordering.
2) What are the dimensions of the Houzer BG-1208 sink grid?
It measures 12 x 8-3/8 x 1 inches overall. The 1 inch height is the part people forget: that is the clearance the grid holds dishes above the sink floor, and it is what keeps glassware off the basin and lets water run under to the drain.
3) Will a sink grid scratch my stainless trough sink?
No. The BG-1208 rides on protective plastic feet that hold it in place, so the wire frame itself does not sit against the basin. Those feet also cut the noise and movement when you are washing dishes over it.
4) Is the Houzer BG-1208 grid suitable for a commercial kitchen or a rental unit turnover?
It is a stainless steel kitchen sink accessory, so it stands up to water, food and cleaning chemicals in daily use. For property managers, the limit is not durability but fit: one grid covers a 12 x 8-3/8 inch area and only suits Houzer CTB-2385 and CTB-3285 trough bowls, so it standardizes across units only if those units all have the same sink.
5) Does the BG-1208 bottom grid come with a drain or strainer?
No. The BG-1208 is the wire bottom rack alone, supplied with its plastic feet. Any basket strainer or drain assembly for the CTB-2385 or CTB-3285 is ordered separately.
6) What finish does the Houzer BG-1208 grid come in?
One finish only: satin stainless steel, which is the standard match for a brushed stainless trough bowl. There is no polished or coated version of this grid.
