Houzer BG-3300 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Houzer BG-3300 bottom grid fit my sink if it isn't a Houzer BCD-3322?
No. The BG-3300 Wirecraft bottom grid is cut to fit the Houzer BCD-3322 sink bowl only. In a different bowl the perimeter will either bind on the radius or sit loose and slide, and the feet won't land where they should. If you have another Houzer model, order the bottom grid matched to that model number instead of forcing this one.
2) Does a bottom sink grid actually protect a stainless sink, or is a plastic mat enough?
A wire grid like the BG-3300 keeps pots and dishes up off the sink floor on protective feet, so the metal takes the hit instead of the bowl surface and water drains straight through underneath. A flat mat traps standing water and debris against the sink. The grid also damps the drum noise of a pan dropped in the bowl, which is why they go into rental and multi-family kitchens where sinks take abuse.
3) What finish does the Houzer BG-3300 come in, and will it match a brushed stainless sink?
Satin stainless steel is the only finish offered, which reads as the same brushed tone as a standard stainless kitchen sink bowl. There is no coated or colored version of this grid.
4) Is the BG-3300 grid suitable for a kitchen sink or a bath/utility basin?
It is a kitchen application part, built for the BCD-3322 kitchen bowl. Bath lavatories and most utility basins have different bowl footprints, so the grid won't seat correctly in them.
5) Will the BG-3300 hold up to garbage disposal use and cleaning chemicals?
The grid is stainless steel, so it stands up to water, food acids and ordinary kitchen cleaners. Keep abrasive pads and chlorine-based cleaners off it, the same care you'd give a stainless bowl, and rinse it rather than leaving wet debris sitting underneath.
