Houzer BG-3950 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-3950 bottom grid fit?
The BG-3950 Wirecraft bottom grid is cut to fit the Houzer MB-3300 sink and nothing else. It is a model-specific accessory, so if your bowl is any other Houzer model or another brand entirely, this grid will not sit correctly in the basin. Match the sink model before ordering.
2) Does a bottom grid actually protect a stainless sink, or is it just for looks?
It does real work. The BG-3950 sits on the sink floor and keeps pots, cast iron, and plates off the basin surface, so scratching and dish breakage both drop. Protective feet hold it in place and cut the rattle and movement while you wash. For rental turnovers and multi-family kitchens, that is the difference between a bowl that still looks presentable at year five and one that gets flagged on an inspection.
3) Does the Houzer BG-3950 grid need any installation or hardware?
No hardware, no tools. The grid simply drops into the bowl and rests on its own feet, which also keep it from sliding. Nothing is fastened to the sink, so it lifts straight out for cleaning underneath.
4) Will the BG-3950 grid sit over the drain and block it?
The Wirecraft grid is an open wire lattice, so water and debris pass straight through to the drain below. It is a floor protector, not a strainer, and it does not cover or restrict the drain opening. You still run your standard basket strainer in the drain.
5) Is the Houzer BG-3950 for a kitchen sink or can it go in a bar or utility bowl?
It is a kitchen application accessory, and because it is dimensioned to the MB-3300 bowl specifically, it is not a general-purpose grid you can drop into a bar or laundry basin. For those, you need a grid sized to that particular bowl.
