Plan on a 36 inch base cabinet minimum. The sink itself measures 33 x 20 x 10-1/8 inches overall, so a standard 36 inch sink base gives you the side clearance the apron needs. It will not drop into a 33 inch cabinet without modification.
2) Does the Houzer Chelsea CHE-3320SAW come with mounting hardware or a cutout template?
No on both counts. The Chelsea fireclay apron sink ships without mounting hardware and without an installation template, so the cabinet support framing and the countertop cutout are on the installer. Fireclay is heavy, so build a solid cradle or ledger to carry the sink before the counter goes on. What does come in the box is the accessory set: basket strainer, bottom grid, cutting board, drying tray, and roll-up mat.
3) What drain and disposal will fit the Houzer CHE-3320SAW fireclay sink?
The drain opening is the standard 3-1/2 inch kitchen size and it sits at the center of the bowl, so any standard 3-1/2 inch basket strainer or garbage disposal flange mounts to it. A basket strainer (BAS-2000-SS) is already included. Center drain placement means the tailpiece drops straight down the middle of the cabinet, which eats more usable storage space than an offset-drain sink.
4) How deep is the bowl on the Chelsea 33 inch apron sink, and will a large stock pot fit?
Bowl interior is 31-7/16 x 18-5/16 inches with 9-1/4 inches of depth. That is a single uninterrupted basin, so full sheet pans, roasting racks, and tall stock pots lay in flat with no divider in the way. Exterior depth is 10 inches.
5) What does the split-level workstation design on the Chelsea sink actually do?
The bowl has two ledge levels instead of one. The included cutting board, drying tray, and roll-up mat slide along those steps, so you can prep on the upper tier and slide food down into the basin, or wash on one side and drain on the other. The bottom grid (SWG-3017F) sits in the base to keep pans off the fireclay. It is one bowl, so you get the workstation versatility without giving up the room a divider would take.
6) Is a fireclay farmhouse sink durable enough for a rental or multi-family kitchen?
Fireclay is a good fit for high-turnover units. The Chelsea is 100 percent fireclay fired over 20 hours at 2200 degrees, giving a non-porous surface that resists staining, discoloration, chipping, cracking, and scratching. Rounded interior corners mean no square seams for grime to collect in. It carries an ICC certification.
7) Does the Houzer CHE-3320SAW have a faucet hole, or do I need a deck-mount or wall faucet?
Apron front sinks like the Chelsea are not drilled for a faucet. Plan on the faucet being mounted through the countertop behind the sink or on the wall, and lay out those holes based on your counter material and the 20 inch front-to-back sink footprint.
