1) What size cabinet do I need for the Houzer G-300U undermount sink?
The G-300U needs a 30 inch minimum base cabinet. Overall sink size is 24-3/8 x 18-1/2 x 9 inches, so a 30 inch sink base gives the clearance the rails and the undermount clips need. Anything smaller than 30 inches and it won't drop in.
2) Can the Houzer G-300U granite composite sink be installed in a laminate or tile countertop?
No. The G-300U is an undermount sink only, and undermount installation requires a solid surface top such as granite, quartz, or solid stone that can be polished at the cut edge and support the sink from below. Laminate and standard tile tops need a drop-in or top-mount sink instead.
3) Does the Houzer G-300U come with a template and mounting hardware, or do I need to buy them?
Both are in the box. The G-300U ships with mounting hardware and a cut template, plus installation instructions, so the fabricator has what they need to cut the top and set the sink. What is not included is the drain: it takes a 3-1/2 inch basket strainer, and Houzer lists the 190-9180 strainer, the 629808 bottom grid, and the CB-4100 cutting board as accessories.
4) Will a standard garbage disposal fit the Houzer G-300U sink drain?
Yes. The G-300U has a 3-1/2 inch drain opening, which is the standard US kitchen sink opening that residential disposals and basket strainers are built for. The drain sits at the rear of the bowl, which keeps the disposal and P-trap toward the back wall and leaves usable storage under the front of the cabinet.
