1) What size cabinet do I need for the Houzer MS-2700 undermount sink?
Plan on a 30 inch base cabinet minimum for the MS-2700. The sink itself measures 26-1/2 x 17-15/16 x 9 inches overall, so a 30 inch cabinet leaves the side clearance an undermount needs for the clips and the reveal. Anything narrower and the bowl won't sit inside the cabinet walls.
2) How deep is the bowl on the Houzer MS-2700 and will a big stock pot fit?
The single bowl runs 24-5/16 inches long by 15-3/4 inches wide with a full 9 inch depth. That is a deep bowl by kitchen sink standards, so a large stock pot or a sheet pan laid on the diagonal clears the rim without splashing over. Depth is the same 9 inches as the overall sink height, meaning the bowl uses the entire body of the sink.
3) Will my existing kitchen basket strainer and garbage disposal fit the Houzer MS-2700 drain?
The drain opening is 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard US kitchen sink size, so a standard disposal flange or a standard basket strainer mates with it. You don't have to buy one either way: the MS-2700 ships with a basket strainer (Houzer 190-9180) in the box.
4) What comes in the box with the Houzer MS-2700, and what else do I need to buy to install it?
Mounting clips, a cutout template, installation instructions, and the basket strainer all ship with the sink. What is not included is the faucet, the drain tailpiece and trap assembly, and the silicone or epoxy adhesive that bonds an undermount to the countertop underside. Houzer also offers two accessories for this bowl if you want them: the BG-2700 bottom grid and the CB-2500 cutting board.
5) Can the Houzer MS-2700 be installed in a laminate or tile countertop, or does it need stone?
An undermount sink bonds to the underside of the counter, so it needs a solid-surface material with a finished, sealed cutout edge, granite, quartz, solid surface, or butcher block. Standard laminate has a particleboard core at the cut edge that will swell once it gets wet, so a drop-in is the right call there instead. The MS-2700 is undermount only; there is no rim to rest on the deck.
6) Where is the drain located on the Houzer MS-2700, and does that leave room for plumbing in the cabinet?
Rear drain placement. That pushes the tailpiece and trap toward the back wall of the cabinet, which frees up usable shelf space underneath and keeps the P-trap out of the way of a pull-out. It also means the bottom of the bowl slopes toward the back, so water clears instead of pooling under a stacked pan.
7) Is the Houzer MS-2700 heavy enough gauge steel for a rental or commercial kitchen?
It is 18 gauge T-304 stainless. T-304 is the chromium-nickel grade that resists staining and corrosion from food acids and cleaners, and 18 gauge is the heavier of the two common residential thicknesses, so it dents and oil-cans less than the 20 or 22 gauge sinks that go into budget turnovers. For a property manager standardizing across units, that is the trade-off: more material up front, fewer replacements.
8) Does the Houzer MS-2700 meet plumbing code for a permitted job?

If you need to separate washing and rinsing, or you want a disposal on one side and a clean side on the other, you want a double bowl model instead.
10) How noisy is the Houzer MS-2700, and will I hear the disposal through the cabinet?
It is treated on two fronts: a StoneGuard undercoating sprayed on the underside of the bowl plus a sound-absorbing pad bonded under it. The undercoat kills the ringing you get from thin uncoated steel, and the pad damps the drum effect of water hitting the bottom. Combined with 18 gauge steel, this is meaningfully quieter than an uncoated budget bowl, which matters in an open-plan kitchen where the sink is in the same room as the seating.
11) What finish does the Houzer MS-2700 come in, and does it show water spots?
One finish only: satin stainless with a highlighted rim. Satin is a brushed directional finish, which hides fingerprints and light scratches far better than a mirror polish, though hard water will still leave spots if the bowl air dries. There is no mirror or PVD color option for this model.
12) Is there a spec sheet and installation instructions for the Houzer MS-2700?
Both are available: a model-specific MS-2700 spec sheet with the dimensioned drawing your fabricator needs for the cutout, and Houzer's undermount installation instructions covering the clip and adhesive method.
