Handed, yes. You order it by the swing of the opening, and both hands are made: left flush door and right flush door. Get this wrong and the pivot will not mount. Stand outside the door, determine the hand, and specify it on the order along with the finish.

It is a set. The OP-7001/OP-7002 pairing covers the top frame and top door portions plus the bottom door portion and the floor/jamb portion, so one order handles both ends of the leaf. No separate bottom pivot purchase is needed for a standard 1/8 inch recessed opening.

There is 1/8 inch of vertical adjustment built in, so you can take up a small amount of sag or fine tune the bottom clearance without pulling the door. That is the full range, so frame prep and floor level still need to be right going in.

The bearing surfaces are the part that matters on a pivot. The top frame portion runs an Oilite bronze bushing, the top door portion has a case hardened spring loaded pin, the bottom door portion uses a full race ball bearing, and the floor/jamb portion has a case hardened stud. That is a commercial-rated assembly, not a residential pivot, and the ball bearing bottom is what keeps a 125 lb leaf swinging freely over time.

For a fire rated opening, work from a pivot that carries the rating on its own listing. Among the fire rated options we stock, the Don-Jo BP-1-34 bottom pivot in LHR or RHR and the BP-2-34 are heavy duty and fire rated with the same 3/4 inch offset, and the Don-Jo HRP-1 reinforcing pivot is also 3/4 inch offset and fire rated. The McKinney PH-4 pocket pivot is a standard duty fire rated option where the door needs to swing clear of the opening.

The OP-7001/OP-7002 is a complete top and bottom offset pivot set for 1/8 inch recessed doors and is supplied in aluminum or storefront bronze finishes.

Two finishes: AL aluminum and DU storefront bronze. Both are offered in left and right hand, so you can match the pivots to clear anodized or dark bronze storefront on either swing. If you are standardizing a building, pick one finish across all the openings and order the hands to suit each door.

No power involved. The 7000 Series offset pivot set is purely mechanical, with no electrified transfer through the pivot. If the opening needs power to the door for an electric lock or exit device, that has to come from a separate electric hinge, power transfer, or wire loop.
