Product Overview
Easily and cost effectively expand legacy systems to operate within an ISONAS Pure IP environment without having to issue new credentials or replace existing system panels. The IP-Bridge 2.0 connects the modern IP-network world and legacy wiegand installations. Simply unplug existing panels and attach wiegand readers directly to the IP-Bridge 2.0. When paired with the ISONAS R-1 reader, the IP-Bridge 2.0 provides legacy systems a path to mobile credentials.

Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I keep my existing Wiegand readers and credentials when moving to an ISONAS Pure IP system?
That is what the IP-Bridge 2.0 is for. You unplug the existing access control panel, land your existing Wiegand readers directly on the IP-Bridge 2.0, and keep the readers, the credentials and the power supplies you already have. No re-badging the building and no pulling readers off the doors. It works with both 13.56MHz and 125KHz Wiegand readers, and it handles burst mode from keypad readers.
2) How many doors does the ISONAS IPB2.0-2DOOR IP-Bridge control?
Two doors per unit. The 2-door model supports one IP device and two Wiegand devices, so a pair of openings on existing Wiegand readers is the intended job. For a larger building you scale by adding units rather than by adding doors to one unit.
3) How many IP-Bridge 2.0 units can I run off one network drop?
Up to 32. The IP-Bridge 2.0 has a dual network port, so units daisy chain in series off a single switch port. At two doors each, that is up to 96 doors on one port, which is the argument for it in a building where you are not going to get a new home run to every IDF.
4) What happens at the door if the network or the host server goes down?
Each door keeps working in local mode. The IP-Bridge 2.0 stores 20,000 credentials, 5,000 access events and 32 time schedules per door on board, so cards keep reading and events keep logging while the host is unreachable, then reconcile when it comes back. For an MRO or facilities buyer that is the difference between a network outage being an IT ticket and being a lockout.
5) Should I use an IP bridge or a standalone two-door access controller?
It depends on whether you already have readers in the doors. The IP-Bridge 2.0 is a migration device: it exists to take over existing Wiegand readers and panels and put them on an IP network, managed from a host. If there is nothing in the door yet and you just want two openings controlled, a purpose-built two-door controller is a cleaner start. ZenSupply carries the Aiphone AC-2DM-B PoE Two-Door Access Controller in the AC Series for that, and the Codelocks A3 Dual Standalone Door Controller with RFID for a standalone setup with its own RFID credentials rather than a networked head end.
6) What is a straight two-door alternative to the Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR IP Bridge?
The Aiphone AC-2DM-B is a PoE two-door access controller in the Aiphone AC Series, so it covers the same two openings from a single network-powered box. The difference is in what each one is built around: the Isonas IPB2.0 is a bridge that lets existing Wiegand readers and credentials keep running in a Pure IP environment by unplugging the old panel and landing those readers directly on it, while the AC-2DM-B is an AC Series controller in its own right. If the goal is keeping installed Wiegand readers and cards in service, the IP Bridge 2.0 is the one built for that path.
7) For one or two doors with no existing panel to replace, is there a simpler option than an IP Bridge controller?
The Codelocks A3 dual standalone door controller with RFID in black finish handles two doors as a standalone device with RFID credentialing built in, from the A3 Door Controllers series. That suits an opening being credentialed for the first time. The Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR is aimed at the opposite situation: legacy Wiegand readers already on the doors, existing power supplies and credentials worth keeping, and a move onto the network without reissuing cards. It also stores 20,000 credentials, 5,000 access events, and 32 time schedules per door so it keeps deciding locally.
8) Will the IP-Bridge 2.0 fit in my existing enclosure or back box?
The unit measures 6.28 x 3.55 x 2.26 inches. Check that against the space you free up when the old panel comes out, since most integrators mount it in the same closet or can the panel vacated.
9) Do I need to replace my card readers to get mobile credentials?
No. Pair the IP-Bridge 2.0 with the ISONAS R-1 reader and a legacy Wiegand system gets a path to mobile credentials, while the doors still on old Wiegand readers keep running off the same bridge. You can phase readers over one opening at a time instead of doing the whole building at once.
10) Is the Aiphone AC-2DM-B a drop-in replacement for the ISONAS IP-Bridge 2.0?
They are not interchangeable. The AC-2DM-B is a PoE two-door controller in Aiphone's AC Series and runs as its own system; the IP-Bridge 2.0 is built to sit into an ISONAS Pure IP environment and carry legacy Wiegand readers and credentials into it, including local-mode operation for 20,000 credentials per door. If the goal is keeping the badges already in people's wallets, the bridge is the one that does that.
11) Do I have to change out my access control power supplies to use the IP-Bridge 2.0?
No. Keeping the existing power supplies is part of the point, along with the Wiegand readers and the credentials. The migration cost is the bridge and the labor to swap the panel out, not a full rip and replace of the door hardware.
12) Will the IP-Bridge 2.0 read my 125KHz prox cards as well as 13.56MHz smart cards?
Both. The IP-Bridge 2.0 works with 13.56MHz and 125KHz Wiegand readers, which covers most of what is on older commercial buildings, and it supports burst mode on keypad readers so PIN entry carries through as well. Mixed-vintage sites where some doors are prox and some are smart card can run off the same unit.
13) Will the Aiphone IMU-100 do the same job as the Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR?
No. The IMU-100 is a controller and operation station kit for the Aiphone IM Series, so it is sold as a system kit built around an operation station rather than as a Wiegand reader interface. The Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR is a two-door IP Bridge that takes Wiegand readers wired straight to it, works with 13.56MHz and 125KHz readers, and supports burst mode on keypad readers. If the job is landing existing card readers on the network, the IM Series kit is not a substitute for it.
14) Which two-door controller scales to a large door count on one network drop?
The Isonas IPB2.0-2DOOR uses a dual network port so up to 32 IP Bridges daisy chain in series to manage as many as 96 doors through a single network port. Among the two-door alternatives, the Aiphone AC-2DM-B is a PoE two-door controller in the AC Series and the Codelocks A3 is a dual standalone door controller with RFID, each addressing its two openings. For a run of doors down one corridor served by one drop, the daisy chain on the IP Bridge 2.0 is the distinguishing capability.
