The plate measures 6-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches with radius corners, so it drops into a frame prep already cut for that size with rounded ends. A square corner prep, or a prep cut for a shorter plate, needs to be filed or the frame reworked. Measure the existing cutout before you order.
3) What faceplate fits a 4-7/8 inch strike cutout instead of a 6-7/8 inch one?
The Locknetics NCCFP-KIT face plate measures 6-7/8 inches by 1-1/4 inches, so it covers a cutout prepped for that length. For a shorter 4-7/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch opening, the Trine 4100 Series CC faceplate is built to that size and uses a center cavity. Measure the existing mortise in the frame before choosing between them, since the two are not interchangeable in the same prep.
4) What finishes does the Locknetics NCCFP-KIT come in?
Two finishes: 613 oil rubbed bronze and 630 satin stainless steel. Ordering the 630 is the usual move on commercial hollow metal frames since it matches the satin stainless the rest of the strike hardware typically carries; the 613 is there when the frame hardware is dark bronze.
5) I have an old damaged strike faceplate, do I have to replace the whole electric strike?
Not if the strike body and solenoid still work. The NCCFP-KIT replaces just the radius corner face plate on an NC450, so a bent, drilled, or mismatched-finish plate can be swapped without pulling the strike or rewiring. If the strike itself is failing, the plate alone will not fix it.
6) Can a BEA MS31 faceplate be used in place of an electric strike faceplate?
No. The BEA MS31 Series faceplates are for microwave motion sensors used in touchless activation, so they serve a switch or actuator, not a strike.
