Locknetics NCFP-KIT-10B – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening does the Locknetics NCFP-KIT faceplate cover on an NC450 electric strike?
The NCFP-KIT faceplate measures 4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches with radius corners, and it is made for the NC450 electric strike. That is the standard ANSI-style strike cutout footprint, so if your frame is already prepped for a 4-7/8 inch faceplate with rounded corners, this drops into the same prep. Square-corner preps will show a gap at the corners.
2) Will a Locknetics NC Series faceplate fit a Trine or HES electric strike?
No. The NCFP-KIT is cut for the NC450 strike body, and faceplates are keyed to the strike they cover even when the outside dimensions look alike. Trine's 4100 Series CC faceplate is also 4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches, but it is a center-cavity plate for a 4100 strike. HES sells its own faceplates for the Folger Adam 700 Series. Match the plate to the strike brand and model, not to the frame cutout.
3) What is the difference between the Locknetics NCFP-KIT face plate and the Trine 4100 series CC face plate?
Both are 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" face plates, so they cover the same strike cutout footprint. The Locknetics NCFP-KIT is the face plate for the NC Series electric strikes, supplied one per kit with a radius corner, in Stainless Steel or Dark Bronze. The Trine CC face plate is a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" center cavity plate for the Trine 4100 series. Match the plate to the strike body you already have in the frame - a Locknetics NC strike takes the NCFP-KIT, a Trine 4100 strike takes the Trine CC plate.
4) I need a fire rated Grade 1 electric strike face plate - is the Locknetics NCFP-KIT the right one?
The NCFP-KIT is the NC Series face plate in a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" radius corner form, offered in Stainless Steel and Dark Bronze. If the opening calls for a fire rated Grade 1 assembly, look at the Folger Adam 700 Series face plates from HES, which are Grade 1 and fire rated. Face plates are matched to the strike body they cover, so the 700 Series plate goes with a 700 Series strike, not with an NC Series strike.
5) How many faceplates come in the Locknetics NC Series face plate kit?
One faceplate per kit. If you are refinishing or repairing a run of doors, order one kit per opening rather than expecting a multi-pack.
6) What finishes does the Locknetics NCFP-KIT electric strike faceplate come in?
Two: US32D stainless steel and US10B dark bronze. US32D is the usual match for commercial lever trim and aluminum storefront hardware; US10B pairs with oil-rubbed and dark bronze door hardware. Pick the one that matches the lockset already on the opening, since the faceplate sits right in the frame next to it.
7) Are the BEA MS31 face plates an alternative to the Locknetics NCFP-KIT?
No - they solve different problems despite sharing the words face plate. The NCFP-KIT is the strike face plate for Locknetics NC Series electric strikes, a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" radius corner plate that mounts in the door frame at the strike. The BEA MS31 Series face plates are for MS31 microwave motion sensors used for touchless activation, so they are part of an automatic door activation sensor, not part of a strike. Ordering one when you need the other leaves the strike cutout uncovered.
