The Master Lock 1 Series laminated padlock uses a hardened steel shackle 5/16 inch (8mm) in diameter with a 3/4 inch (19mm) clearance between the legs. So the hasp staple or chain link has to accept an 8mm shank, and the opening you are locking through can be no wider than 19mm across. That 3/4 inch width is the number that decides it on most commercial hasps and gate latches.

Yes. Keying is an option on the Master Lock 1 Series laminated padlock: KA (keyed alike) so one key opens every lock in the group, KD (keyed different) so each lock has its own key, or supplied without a cylinder. KA is what you want for a maintenance crew carrying one key for a whole property.

Specify the key code when you order. Two stock key codes are offered, 3594 and 10L464, and there is a free text field to enter an existing key number instead so new locks match the ones already hanging on your gates. You can also note whether a substitute keyed alike number is acceptable if your number is not available.

The no-cylinder version of the Master Lock 1 Series laminated padlock is for facilities that key their own hardware. A locksmith or in-house shop drops in a cylinder cut to the site's existing system so the padlock runs on the same keyway as the doors, rather than adding another separate key to the ring. If you do not maintain your own keying, order KA or KD instead and take the factory cylinder.

Laminated construction stacks steel plates riveted together, and Master Lock rates this 1 Series body for resistance to drilling and prying. Dual ball bearing locking holds the shackle on both legs, which is what resists a pry bar at the heel. The shackle itself is hardened steel for cut resistance. It is a general purpose commercial-duty padlock, not a shrouded or boron alloy high-security lock, so for a high-risk exterior point consider a shrouded-shackle body instead.

It runs a 5-pin cylinder, classified W1. Five pins gives a workable number of differs for keyed different sets across a building while keeping picking resistance reasonable for general property use.
