The 1 Series laminated steel padlock is ordered by keying option, and KA (Keyed Alike) puts every lock in the group on one key, which is what most property managers and maintenance crews want across a set of gates, sheds or electrical cabinets. KD (Keyed Different) gives each padlock its own unique key when you need access separated. There is also a Without Cylinder option for shops that install their own cylinder.

Specify the key code. The 1 Series padlock can be ordered against key codes 10L470, 3594, 10L658, 3210 or 10L320, and there is a free text field for entering an existing key number instead. In that field you can also state whether a substitute keyed alike number is acceptable if your number isn't available, which keeps the order moving instead of holding it. Give the code stamped on your current key or lock and the new padlocks will match the set.

The hardened steel shackle is 5/16 inch (8mm) in diameter with a 3/4 inch (19mm) clearance between the legs. Measure the hole in your hasp or the link on your chain: anything under 5/16 inch won't take it, and staples or hasps wider than 3/4 inch across won't fit inside the shackle. Those two numbers are what decide whether this padlock goes on the opening at all.

Laminated construction stacks and riveted steel plates instead of casting one piece, which resists drilling and prying better than a die cast body. Master Lock pairs it with dual ball bearing locking on the shackle, so the lock holds under a pry bar or a twist attack rather than popping the shackle out of the heel. It's the standard choice for gates, storage units, tool cribs and job site containers where the lock is exposed.

Keyed, not combination. The 1 Series ships with a 5 pin cylinder and a key, and the cylinder classification is W1. If you need code access rather than carrying keys, this isn't the right padlock to order.

It's for locksmiths and security integrators who key their own hardware. The padlock body ships without the cylinder so you can fit a cylinder from your own keying system and bring the padlock onto the same key as the rest of the building. If you're not supplying your own cylinder, order KA or KD instead so the lock arrives with a working key.
