1) Can I use the Nibco 750-3 bulkhead fitting on a potable drinking water line?
No. Use of the 750-3 in U.S. drinking water applications is prohibited after January 3, 2014. It is a cast bronze body, ASTM B584 Alloy C84400, which is not a lead-free potable alloy. For potable work you need a fitting made to the lead-free requirement. The 750-3 is intended for non-potable service such as HVAC, heating, fire protection, industrial and irrigation lines.
2) What is the Nibco 750-3 bulkhead fitting made of?
Cast bronze, to ASTM B584 Alloy C84400, and it is dezincification resistant, which matters where water chemistry attacks the zinc in brass and weakens the fitting over time. Material and workmanship follow ASME B16.18.
3) What copper tube sizes does the Nibco 750-3 bulkhead fitting come in?
Three sizes: 1/2 inch (B351300), 3/4 inch (B351350) and 1 inch (B351400). Size refers to the nominal copper tube the solder cup accepts, with a matching female NPT thread on the opposite end.

A bulkhead fitting passes a line through a tank wall, panel or partition and seals at that penetration, rather than simply joining two lengths of pipe in a run. The 750-3 is supplied as the bronze fitting body with a solder cup on one end and a female NPT thread on the other. Sealant or PTFE tape on the male threads going into it, solder and flux for the copper joint, and any sealing washer your tank penetration calls for are separate items. Nibco publishes copper fitting installation instructions for the soldering procedure.
