It is a lead-free fitting and is third party certified to UPC, plus to the performance requirements of CSA MSE 13 and PS-117. Body material is ASTM B75 alloy C12200 copper, and it is dezincification resistant. It also complies with ASME B16.51 performance.

The press end is made to join seamless copper water tube, and it is sized by nominal tube size (1/2 through 3 inch). Standard drawn copper water tube of a given nominal size shares the same outside diameter across types M, L and K, so the press socket seats the same. The tube end must be cut square, deburred and clean for the seal to set.
8) Should I use a press adapter or a solder male adapter to tie copper into threaded pipe?
A press adapter like the PC603 makes the joint cold with a tool in seconds, no torch, no flame permit and no draining the line bone dry, which is why it wins on occupied buildings and retrofit work. Soldered adapters are still the cheaper hardware if you already have the torch out and no tool investment. Note the direction: PC603 is press to FEMALE thread, so it accepts a male thread. If your existing pipe end is female, you need the male-thread version instead.
