The PC607-LT 90-degree long radius elbow is made in 2-1/2 inch, 3 inch and 4 inch copper tube sizes, ordered as 9079050PC, 9079100PC and 9079200PC respectively. Both ends are press, so it joins straight into copper tube of the matching size without a reducer.

Yes. The PC607-LT is a lead-free wrot copper press fitting for residential and commercial potable, hot, chilled and process water, and it is third party certified to UPC. Nibco also lists it for heating, HVAC, irrigation and automatic sprinkler systems.
3) What pressure and temperature can this Nibco press elbow handle?
200 psi CWP, with a service range of -20 F to 250 F. That covers ordinary domestic water, chilled water and hydronic heating loops. It is not a steam fitting.

No. This is a press-to-press fitting, joined with a pressing tool rather than a torch, so there is no solder, flux or open flame involved. You do need the correct Nibco Press System tool with jaws or a chain sized for 2-1/2, 3 or 4 inch tube depending on which size you are running.
5) What is the difference between a long radius press elbow and a standard 90 press elbow?
Both make the same 90 degree (quarter bend) turn, but the PC607-LT is a long radius / long turn pattern, so the sweep is wider and the flow change is gentler than a short radius 90. Pick the long turn where you want lower friction loss or a softer bend on larger lines like the 2-1/2 through 4 inch sizes; a standard 90 is the choice where you are tight on space.
6) How do I know a Nibco press elbow was crimped correctly?
When the joint is pressed properly, a distinct "N" witness mark shows on the fitting. On a 2-1/2 through 4 inch PC607-LT you will be pressing with large-diameter jaws or chains, so check for that mark at every joint before you pressurize. Nibco's Press System installation instructions cover the tool and jaw requirements.
7) Can Nibco Press System copper fittings be buried underground?
Yes, Nibco states the Press System fittings can be installed underground. The PC607-LT body is ASTM B75 alloy C12200 copper and is dezincification resistant, which is why it holds up in buried and irrigation service.
