The G971 barrel is copper, so it is intended for copper conductor. Using a copper-only lug on aluminum conductor needs a dual-rated AL/CU connector instead, so for aluminum feeders choose a terminal marked AL9CU rather than this one.
2) Is the Sta-Kon G971 terminal rated for 600 volt circuits?

3) Does the G971 need insulation after crimping, since it has no insulating sleeve?
It's a non-insulated terminal, so the barrel and the crimp are bare metal when you're done. On any installation where the termination could be touched or could contact an adjacent phase or a grounded enclosure wall, plan on heat shrink or tape over the barrel. Non-insulated construction is what lets you inspect the crimp and apply heat shrink of your choosing, which is why it's common in panel and battery cable work.
