1) Is the G975 lug rated for 600 volt circuits?
Yes, the terminal carries a 600 V rating, which covers typical commercial panel, switchgear, motor and generator terminations. It is also built under UL file E9809.
2) Is the Sta-Kon G975 terminal copper or aluminum?
Copper, with a bare metallic finish (no insulating sleeve). Copper construction means it is intended for copper conductors, not aluminum. For aluminum feeders you need a lug marked AL9CU or AL rated.
3) Does the G975 lug come with insulation, or do I need heat shrink?
It ships bare. The G975 is a non-insulated tubular lug, so if the termination needs covering you add it yourself, typically adhesive-lined heat shrink or a vinyl boot sized to the barrel. Many panel and ground-bar terminations are left bare.
4) Do I crimp the Sta-Kon G975 or is it a set-screw lug?
It is a crimp lug. The tubular barrel is compressed onto the stripped conductor with a hydraulic or mechanical crimp tool and the correct die for 2 AWG copper. There is no set screw, so no periodic retorque of the conductor connection.
