1) Can I use the Sta-Kon G2-38 ring terminal on a 480V panel feeder?
Yes, within rating. The G2-38 is rated 600 V, which covers 120/208, 277/480 and 600 V systems. It is also UL recognized under file E9809.
2) Is the Sta-Kon G2-38 copper or aluminum, and can I put it on aluminum conductor?
The barrel is copper, so it is a copper-only terminal. Use it on 2 AWG copper conductor. Aluminum feeders need an AL9CU or AL-rated lug with the appropriate inhibitor compound, not this one.
3) Is the Sta-Kon G2-38 lug insulated?
No. It is a non-insulated tubular ring terminal, bare copper with a metallic finish. If the connection needs to be covered, you add heat shrink or a vinyl sleeve separately. For insulated-barrel applications, pick an insulated ring terminal instead.
4) Does the Sta-Kon G2-38 crimp or does it take a set screw?
It crimps. This is a tubular-barrel compression lug for 2 AWG, so it needs a hydraulic or mechanical crimp tool with the correct die for a 2 AWG copper barrel. There is no set screw, and a pair of pliers will not make a code-compliant termination.
