NUVO Lighting 62-1212 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO 62-1212 flush mount go in a bathroom or over a laundry sink?
Damp location rated and listed for indoor use, so a bathroom ceiling, covered laundry area, or similar damp spot is fine. It is not a wet location fixture, so skip exposed exterior soffits or anywhere it takes direct water.
    2) What color temperatures does the NUVO 62-1212 round LED put out, and how do you change them?
It's a CCT selectable fixture, so one unit covers multiple white color temperatures instead of stocking several SKUs. Output runs 1230 to 1330 lumens depending on the setting chosen, at 20W, with a CRI of 90 for good color rendering in corridors and living spaces.
    3) Can the NUVO 62-1212 be mounted on a wall instead of the ceiling?
Yes. The mounting method covers both ceiling and wall, so the same 14 inch round works as a close-to-ceiling fixture or as a wall-mounted utility light in a stairwell, hallway, or storage room.
    4) Is this NUVO flush mount dimmable, and does it need a special LED driver or dimmer?
The 62-1212 is dimmable and runs on 120V line voltage with an integrated LED driver built in. Pair it with a dimmer rated for LED loads; a 20W fixture is a very light load, so on a multi-fixture circuit check your dimmer's minimum load.
    5) Can you replace the bulb in the NUVO 62-1212, or is the LED permanent?
The LED is integrated, not a lamp in a socket, so there is nothing to relamp. Rated average life is 50,000 hours, which is why these get specified for apartment hallways and stairwells where changing bulbs means a ladder and a work order.
    6) Is the NUVO 62-1212 ETL listed for commercial jobs?
It carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian requirements, and the fixture is RoHS compliant. That listing is typically what an inspector or spec reviewer looks for on an MRO or multi-family fixture swap.
    7) Is 1,300 lumens from a 14 inch flush mount enough for a bedroom or small hallway?
At 1230 to 1330 lumens it's in the range of a single 100W incandescent, which suits a hallway, small bedroom, entry, closet, or laundry room. For a kitchen or a large open living room you'd want a second fixture or a higher-output unit rather than leaning on one 20W round.
    8) How much does the NUVO 62-1212 weigh, and will a plastic ceiling box hold it?
The fixture weighs 1.82 lbs, so there's no structural concern on a properly secured ceiling box. The low weight also makes it a one-person install on a ladder, which matters when a maintenance tech is doing a run of units in a day.
    9) Does the NUVO 62-1212 carry a California Prop 65 warning?
Yes. Lead is the listed Prop 65 chemical for this fixture, which is standard disclosure on fixtures with metal components. Buyers shipping into California should keep the warning with the product documentation.
    10) What finish options does the NUVO 62-1212 come in?
One finish: white. Model 62-1212 is built as a single white 14 inch round, so there is no color decision to make on the order form, just quantity.
