NUVO Lighting 65-507 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the NUVO 65-507 hi-bay run on 208V or 480V building power?
The 65-507 linear hi-bay is a universal-voltage fixture rated 100V to 277V, so it runs on 120, 208, 240 and 277 volt circuits without changing anything. It will not work on a 480V service. For 480V you need a 480V-rated hi-bay or a step-down transformer ahead of the fixture.
2) What mounting hardware comes with the NUVO 65-507 and can it be surface mounted tight to the deck?
It ships for chain hanging: two 48 inch chains, two V-clips, and one 1.02 inch mounting bracket. The listed mounting method is ceiling chain, so plan on suspending it. If you need the fixture flush to a deck or pendant mounted on rod or cable, you will need a different fixture or separately sourced mounting accessories.
3) Can the NUVO 65-507 hi-bay be installed in a cooler, wash bay, or unheated warehouse?
The 65-507 is an indoor fixture with a damp location rating, so a humid or unheated indoor space like a warehouse or a covered dock is within its rating. It is not wet-location rated, so do not put it anywhere exposed to direct spray, hose-down washdown, or weather.
4) How much light does the 225W NUVO linear hi-bay put out, and how many do I need for a warehouse aisle?
Each 65-507 delivers 30,375 lumens at 225 watts, which works out to 135 lumens per watt. At typical warehouse-aisle targets of roughly 20 to 30 footcandles, one fixture covers a sizable bay; final spacing depends on your mounting height and rack layout, so lay it out from the 30,375 lumen figure rather than a fixture count rule of thumb.
5) Is the NUVO 65-507 dimmable, and is the color temperature field-selectable?
Dimming is supported on the 65-507. Color temperature is not selectable, though. It is fixed at 4000K neutral white, so if you are matching existing 5000K fixtures in the same building this one will read warmer. Order a CCT-selectable hi-bay if you need to tune it on site.
6) Will the LED board or lamp in the NUVO 65-507 be replaceable down the road?
No. The 65-507 uses an integrated LED array with no lamp base, so there is nothing to relamp. The array is rated 50,000 average hours; at end of life you replace the fixture, not a bulb. That is worth knowing for an MRO parts plan, since you do not stock lamps for it.
7) Is the NUVO 65-507 hi-bay UL listed, and does it carry a Prop 65 warning?
Safety listing on the 65-507 is cULus, which covers both US and Canadian installations, and the fixture is RoHS compliant. It does carry a California Proposition 65 warning for lead, which matters if you are shipping to a California jobsite with disclosure requirements.
8) Is a linear hi-bay like the NUVO 65-507 the right choice over a round UFO hi-bay?
A linear hi-bay spreads light along its 45.87 inch length, which suits aisles, racking runs, and rectangular bays where you want even coverage down a row. A round UFO throws a more concentrated circular pattern and is the better pick for open floor areas, assembly space, or lower ceilings where you want punch straight down. For warehouse racking, the linear shape usually wins.
9) Is 80 CRI at 4000K good enough for a warehouse or retail stockroom?
At 80 CRI and 4000K, the 65-507 gives accurate enough color rendering for warehouse, shop, garage, and stockroom work, including reading labels and color-coded parts bins. For a sales floor where merchandise color accuracy is on display, spec a 90 CRI fixture instead.
10) What finish does the NUVO 65-507 come in?
One finish only: white. The 65-507 is a utility-style fixture, so the white housing is the single option and every unit you order will match across a facility.
