1) What pipe sizes and types will Oatey 2946S Pool-Clear PVC cement handle?
Oatey 2946S is a medium body PVC solvent cement rated for all schedules and classes of flexible and rigid PVC pipe and fittings up to 12 inch diameter, provided the joint has an interference fit. It is for PVC only, so it is not the product for CPVC or ABS work.
2) Do I need to use a purple primer with this Oatey pool cement?
On non-pressure DWV joints, no primer is needed where local codes permit. Plenty of jurisdictions still require primer on any PVC joint, and on pressure lines priming is the normal practice, so check what your inspector will accept before you skip it.
3) Can I use Oatey 2946S on potable water and pressure lines, or just pool plumbing?
