OATEY 39103 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much pressure will a 4 inch Oatey Knock-Out test cap hold during a DWV test?
It withstands 10 PSI, or about 30 feet of head pressure. That covers a standard water column test on a 4 inch DWV stack, but it is not a fitting cap for pressurized supply lines.
2) How do you remove an Oatey Knock-Out test cap after the inspection passes?
The center knocks out. Once the plumbing inspection is signed off you break out the center of the cap to open the line, and the tab on the face lets you handle and set the cap without getting solvent cement on your hands during install.
