OATEY 74234 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Oatey 74234 cleanout be set to finished floor height after the slab is poured?
Yes, it is an adjustable cleanout. The 74234 body lets you set the top to match the finished floor or topping thickness instead of being fixed at rough-in height, which is why it gets specified on commercial slab work where the finish height is not final at rough-in.
2) Is the Oatey 74234 a floor cleanout or a wall cleanout?
It is a floor cleanout. The round cast top sits flush at floor level over the adjustable 4 inch PVC body. For a wall access point you want a wall cleanout with a cover plate and a round access cover, not this adjustable floor housing.
3) Do I need to order the cover separately for the Oatey 74234 cleanout?
No. The 74234 ships as a complete assembly: 4 inch PVC adjustable body plus the 6 inch cast chrome round cover. You supply the solvent cement and the 4 inch PVC line.
