OATEY 41612 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is Oatey PVC shower pan liner approved for use under a tile shower?
It's a ready to use waterproofing membrane intended for tile showers and other concealed waterproofing applications. The material is IAPMO Listed and meets ASTM Spec D4551, which is the standard inspectors look for on PVC shower pan liner.
2) What adhesive and corners should I use with the Oatey 41612 liner?
Oatey calls for X-15 Bonding Adhesive with this liner, plus Oatey Dam Corners at the curb ends. Neither is included with the roll, so add both to the order if you want a complete pan install. Mechanical fasteners through the liner below the top of the curb are not how this membrane is meant to be sealed.
3) Can I install this PVC pan liner in cold weather?
Yes. The 30 mil Oatey blue PVC liner is made with superior cold weather characteristics, so it stays flexible enough to fold corners in unheated or winter conditions where a stiffer membrane would crack.
4) Does the Oatey liner have measurement marks for cutting?
The liner is printed in 6 inch increments across the roll, so you can measure and trim pans off the roll without pulling a tape for every cut. That matters on a 100 ft roll where you're cutting a lot of pieces from the same stock.
5) What is the Oatey part number and UPC for the blue 30 mil pan liner roll?
Order it as Oatey model 41612, UPC 038753416120. That number is the 6 ft x 100 ft blue 30 mil PVC roll specifically, not a cut length or a 40 mil product.
