OATEY 42784 8 in. Stainless Steel Cover Plate

Yes, 1/4 in - 20 screws are included with the Oatey 42784 stainless steel cover plate, so you don't need to source fasteners separately to mount it.

The plate ships with a protective film over the stainless face. Leave it on through install and peel it off last, once the surrounding wall or fixture work is done, so the finish arrives clean on a finished space.

Stainless holds up better than painted or plated steel in wet, high-traffic areas, and the face wipes clean, which is why it's the common pick for restrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms in multi-family and institutional buildings. For property managers standardizing across a building, one 8 inch stainless plate spec keeps the look consistent across every access point of that size.

Order it as Oatey manufacturer part number 42784. The UPC on the package is 038753427843. Distributors matching against a bill of material should use the 42784 number, since Oatey sizes its cover plates by separate part numbers rather than options on one number.

It weighs 0.504 lb. Light enough that the included 1/4-20 screws carry it without blocking behind the wall board in most cases, though solid backing is still the better practice on drywall.
