1) Can I use Oatey 31911 yellow cement on FlowGuard Gold CPVC without a primer?
The Oatey 31911 is a one-step CPVC cement, so no separate primer is needed where local codes permit. It's approved for use with FlowGuard Gold piping systems. Some jurisdictions still require a primed joint regardless of the cement's one-step rating, so the inspector's call governs on a permitted job.
2) Can I solvent weld CPVC with Oatey 31911 in freezing weather?
This is the all-weather formulation, and the recommended application temperature range runs from 0 F to 110 F (-18 C to 43 C). That covers most winter work outside and in unheated mechanical rooms. Below zero or above 110 F, you're outside the recommended window and joint quality is no longer covered by the application spec.
3) What water temperature can a joint made with Oatey 31911 CPVC cement take?
