In practice that means the only things left to source are the door itself and the pull or handle. Soft close and soft open, double door, and bypass hardware are separate add-ons, not part of the base kit.
3) Do I need to order a left hand or right hand barn door track?
No handing to specify. The FTTM flat track kit is non-handed, so the same kit slides left or right depending on which end you set your stops and door guide. That also makes it easier to standardize across a building where openings run both directions.
4) Will a barn door track keep the door from swinging away from the wall at the bottom?
The FTTM kit includes a floor or jamb door guide that captures the bottom edge and keeps the slab tight to the wall as it travels. Anti-jump blocks at the top stop the hangers lifting off the track. Between the two, the door is controlled top and bottom without any floor track cut into the finish.
5) Is the Orca FTTM flat track rated for commercial use?
It is classed as commercial hardware, which is the reason the polymer wheels and 200 pound per door capacity matter on a multi-family or hospitality job where the door gets cycled hard. It is still an interior door product, so it belongs on offices, conference rooms, patient rooms and unit interiors, not exterior openings.
6) Can I use the Orca FTTM kit for a pair of barn doors or a bypass setup?
Not as it ships. The base 6'6" kit is set up for a single door with two hangers. Double door and bypass applications are handled by separate option hardware in the FTTM range, and the connector plate included in the flat track kits lets you join track runs where the layout calls for it.
7) Are barn door tracks noisy when the door rolls?
The FTTM hangers run polymer wheels rather than bare steel, which is what keeps the roll quiet on the flat track. If the opening is a bedroom, exam room, or office where the door closing is the complaint, add the soft close and soft open option so the slab doesn't slam into the end stop.
