PDQ GT155 Grade 1 Service Station Cylindrical Lever Lock

Grade 1 Heavy Duty Commercial Cylindrical Lock

The PDQ GT155 is the Service Station function (ANSI/BHMA F92) of the PDQ GT Series Grade 1 Heavy Duty Cylindrical Lock.

The PDQ GT Series is a Grade 1 heavy duty cylindrical lock certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.2. PDQ positions it as its general purpose Grade 1 lock for everyday commercial exterior and interior openings, with lever torque resistance of 2,200 lbf-in, three times the BHMA/ANSI standard, and cycle testing to over 3 times BHMA standards.

A heavy duty diecast chassis, machined billet steel spindles and a 13 gauge steel anti-rotation plate on the secure side give the lock its strength. A 2:1 latchbolt throw allows a 41 degree lever rotation, which reduces torque and extends the life of the lock. The GT is non-handed, assembled in Lancaster, PA, and offered in Philadelphia, Boston and Miami lever styles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the GT strong enough for a busy school or office building, or is the XGT needed?
The GT handles standard to heavy commercial traffic and covers most exterior and interior doors in schools, offices and retail buildings. PDQ reserves the XGT, rated to 3,000 lbf-in of torque resistance, for openings facing extreme abuse or vandalism.

Is the GT fire rated and ADA compliant?
Yes. The GT is UL 10C listed for 3 hour fire doors (single doors up to 4' x 8') and complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1.

Can the GT be used on hurricane rated openings in Florida?
Yes. It is approved for Florida HVHZ installations under PDQ Product Approval FL 21376, with a design load rating of +/- 70.0 PSF on a 3' x 7' single door.

PDQ GT155BSN626L – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Service Station function on the PDQ GT155 actually do?
The GT155 is the ANSI/BHMA F92 Service Station function. It uses a single cylinder on the outside: the key retracts the latch, and the inside lever is always free for egress. There is no inside locking control, so staff cannot lock the door from within the room. If you need an occupant to lock the door from the inside, this is the wrong function.
2) Will the PDQ GT155 fit a 2-inch thick door, or only 1-3/4 inch?
Doors from 1-3/4 inches up to 2-1/4 inches thick are covered. The lock ships preset for 1-3/4 inches, so a 2-inch door needs the thru-bolt adjustment made at install. It mounts in the standard ANSI A156.115 (161) cylindrical prep with through-door thru-bolting, so an existing 161 prep takes it without redrilling.
3) Which backset do I order for the GT155, and does it change the latch throw?
Two backsets are offered. The 2-3/4 inch backset is standard and comes with a 9/16 inch deadlocking latchbolt and a 2-1/4 x 1-1/8 inch faceplate. The 2-3/8 inch option uses a 1/2 inch throw with a 2-1/4 x 1 inch faceplate. Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing bore; 2-3/4 is the usual commercial figure, 2-3/8 shows up on lighter and older preps.
4) Can the PDQ GT155 go on a 3-hour fire rated door?
Fire rated, and UL 10C listed for 3 hour single doors up to 4 feet by 8 feet. It also complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1, which matters since the lever is the operable element on an accessible route.
5) Can the GT155 be keyed into our existing Schlage master key system?
Yes. SCC (Schlage C compatible) is the standard keyway on the GT, and Schlage E, Schlage C-K, Arrow, Corbin 59A1 and 60 and L4, Russwin D1, Sargent LA and RA-RC, Accentra/Yale E1R and GA, Falcon E-R, Kwikset (5-pin only) and PDQ's restricted TA keyway are all available. Keying options run from keyed different and 0-bitted through keyed alike, master keyed, master keyed to existing bittings, and construction master keyed, so it can be cut to your current bitting list rather than rekeyed on site.
6) Does the PDQ GT155 take small format interchangeable cores like Best or Falcon?
It does. Keyed GT functions accept 6-pin or 7-pin small format IC cores compatible with Best, Falcon and Arrow, and you can order SFIC prep less core, with a brass construction core, or with a plastic construction core for a job still under construction. Conventional cylinder and less cylinder are also available. Large format Schlage LFIC prep is offered, but only with the Philadelphia lever.
7) Do I have to specify handing when ordering the PDQ GT155?
No handing to call out. The GT cylindrical lever is non-handed, so one lock covers left and right hand openings and you can stock a single part number across a building.
8) Is the PDQ GT lever heavy enough for a high school corridor, or should we step up?
The GT is a Grade 1 heavy duty lock certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.2, with 2,200 lbf-in of lever torque resistance (three times the BHMA/ANSI minimum) and cycle testing past three times the standard. PDQ positions it for standard to heavy commercial traffic in schools, offices and retail. The XGT, at 3,000 lbf-in, is what PDQ reserves for openings facing extreme abuse or vandalism.
9) Can the PDQ GT155 be used on a Florida hurricane zone exterior door?
Yes. The GT carries PDQ Product Approval FL 21376 for Florida HVHZ installations, rated to a design load of plus or minus 70.0 PSF on a 3 by 7 foot single door. For a coastal exterior opening, the weatherized finish option is available on 626 Satin Chrome.
10) What lever styles and finishes does the PDQ GT155 come in, and will it match our other doors?
Three solid diecast lever designs: Philadelphia, Boston and Miami. Finishes are 605 Bright Brass, 606 Satin Brass, 613E Dark Oxidized Satin Bronze, 619 Satin Nickel, 622 Flat Black, 625 Bright Chrome and 626 Satin Chrome, all on a 3-3/8 inch diameter wrought brass rose with concealed screws. If the corridor side and room side need to differ, the SF split finish option lets you specify outside trim first, then inside.
11) What options exist on the GT155 for a healthcare or X-ray room door?
Two matter there. The lead-lined rose (LL) option suits radiology openings, and an antimicrobial coating (AM) covers the inside and outside levers and roses, available on 626 Satin Chrome only. Tactile abrasive coating is also offered inside only, outside only, or both sides, for hazardous-room identification by touch.
12) Why does the GT lever only rotate 41 degrees, and what changes on a pair of doors?
The 2:1 latchbolt throw gives a 41 degree lever rotation at the 2-3/4 inch backset, which cuts the torque a user applies and extends lock life. On double doors using the 2-3/4 inch latch for that application, rotation is 65 degrees. Worth knowing if you are matching lever feel across an opening.
13) Does the PDQ GT155 come with keys, and what is included in the box?
Each lock ships with two keys when ordered keyed, plus the latch with its beveled stainless steel or wrought brass front (2-1/4 x 1-1/8 inches, beveled 1/8 inch in 2 inches) and the ASA strike unless you select the T-strike or full lip strike. Thru-bolts for the through-door mounting are part of the standard assembly. A dust box is a separate option, not standard.
14) Is the PDQ GT155 an electronic or access control lock?
No, the GT155 is a purely mechanical cylindrical lever lock. It can be ordered with monitoring and wiring accommodations, Request to Exit (REX) signalling and an industry standard Molex connector (ISMC), but the locking itself is mechanical and key operated.
