PDQ I5207 VAULT SFIC Core, 7-Pin
PDQ VAULT Patented Keying System SFIC Core, 7-Pin
PDQ VAULT is a patented keying system built around the VAULT Door, a precision engineered tapered gate inside the core that physically blocks unauthorized keys. Only the tapered VAULT key can pass this barrier, so standard keys cannot engage the core. The design is covered by U.S. Patent #12338653, protected through 2044, and unauthorized duplication of VAULT keys is prohibited.
VAULT cores are 7-pin small format interchangeable cores (SFIC) that fit hardware already prepared for SFIC, and VAULT keys still operate standard PDQ SFIC cores. That hybrid compatibility lets a facility phase its upgrade, securing the perimeter first and working inward without disrupting the current system. VAULT keys and cores are supplied only through authorized distributors under PDQ's Key Control Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can VAULT cores be installed gradually without replacing every lock at once?
Yes. VAULT cores fit existing SFIC housings, and VAULT keys still operate standard cores during the transition, so a campus or multi-building portfolio can convert door by door.
When should VAULT be specified instead of PDQ High Security cores?
VAULT fits when the priority is a patent protected keyway with an authorized distributor only key control policy and hybrid SFIC compatibility. PDQ High Security cores provide anti-drill and sidebar pick resistance in a more conventional cylinder format.
Which PDQ products accept VAULT cores?
PDQ lists the MR Series mortise lock, GT and GP Series cylindrical locks, KM Series deadbolt, and 6W, 6C and 4EN exit device trim as compatible.
