Pro-Lok AO-24 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Pro-Lok AO-24 handle opener actually do on a lockout?
The Pro-Lok AO-24 is a long reach car opening tool built to work interior door handles and slide locks once you have made a gap at the window or door frame. It is a manual reach tool, so you are pulling the inside handle or moving a slide lock with the tip rather than manipulating the lock cylinder.
2) Is the AO-24 a single tool or a kit with multiple pieces?
One tool, one model. The AO-24 ships as a single handle opener and is the only configuration offered, so there is nothing to pick on the order form. If you want a wedge, air bag, or light to get the initial gap, those are separate items.
3) Will the AO-24 work on vehicles with slide style interior locks as well as handles?
Yes. Besides pulling interior door handles, the AO-24 is listed as a slide lock tool, so it is intended to engage the sliding lock buttons found on many door panels.
4) Is this Pro-Lok tool meant for professional locksmiths or for a homeowner's glovebox?
It is catalogued as a commercial grade automotive tool, aimed at locksmiths, roadside service, fleet and towing operations that open vehicles regularly. A one off user is usually better served by calling a service than buying reach tools.
