Pro-Lok AO-34 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Pro-Lok AO-34 narrow MCOT actually do on a lockout?
The AO-34 is a long reach car opening tool from Pro-Lok, set up as a slide lock tool for working on interior lock controls once you have made an entry gap. The narrow profile is meant for going under the window rather than reaching over the glass.
2) Is the Pro-Lok AO-34 an automotive tool or does it work on building doors?
Strictly automotive. Pro-Lok catalogues the AO-34 as a car opening tool for vehicle lockouts, not a tool for residential or commercial door locks. If you need to get past a building door, look at a locksmith's door hardware tooling instead.
3) Which model number do I order for the Pro-Lok under window narrow MCOT?
Order Pro-Lok AO-34. That is the single model for the narrow multi-car opening tool, so there is no length, finish, or handing choice to specify.
4) Is the Pro-Lok AO-34 built for professional use or is it a consumer kit item?
Pro-Lok rates the AO-34 as commercial grade, which is the tier a working locksmith or roadside service tech buys for daily lockout calls rather than occasional use.
