1) Can I use the RCI 65U electric strike on a fire-rated door opening?
No. The 65U is not fire rated, so it should not go on a labeled fire door assembly. It is also listed as not ADA compliant, so keep it off openings where you are relying on the strike for barrier-free operation. Where it belongs is non-rated commercial openings: it carries UL 1034 burglary-resistant listing, UL 294 for access control accessory use, and ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1 certification. For a labeled door, specify a fire-rated electric strike instead, which keeps the latch held on the frame side during a fire condition.
2) Will the RCI 65U strike work with my cylindrical lockset, or do I need a mortise version?
One strike covers both. The 65U is built for cylindrical locks as well as mortise exit and latch locks, so you do not need a separate part number for each lock type on the building. It is non-handed too, which means the same unit goes on a left- or right-hand door with no swap. 3) What is the difference between the standard and low profile 65U electric strike?
