1) Will the RCI 8380 GateMag stay locked if the power goes out?
No. The 8380 GateMag is a fail-safe electromagnetic gate lock, so it releases the moment power drops and the gate can be pushed open. That is the right behavior on an egress gate and the wrong behavior if the gate is your perimeter barrier and you need it to hold during an outage. If a power failure has to leave the gate secured, an electromagnetic lock is not the device for it, since every mag lock releases without current.
