1) Will the RCI 7305 electric strike work with my cylindrical lockset, or is it only for mortise locks?
Both. The RCI 7305 is built for cylindrical locks and mortise exit and latch locks, and it also works with exit devices. The one thing to check on the lock is latch projection: the 7305 accommodates a 5/8 inch (16mm) latch. If your latchbolt projects more than that, it is the wrong keeper for the job.
2) What door thickness can the RCI 7305 strike be used with?
It covers a wide band, 1-3/8 inch through 2-3/8 inch (35mm to 60mm), so it handles both the standard 1-3/4 inch commercial door and older 1-3/8 inch interior doors without a different strike.
3) Is the 7305 fail-safe or fail-secure, and what happens if the power drops?
The 7305 as configured is fail-safe, meaning the keeper releases and the door can be pushed open when power is removed. That is the behavior you want on an egress path tied to a fire alarm release, and the behavior you do NOT want on a perimeter or storage door, where losing power would unlock the opening.
