1) What comes in the Record USA EZ36 automatic operator kit, and do I need to buy anything else to automate a 36 inch door?
The EZ36 kit is packed to automate a single 36 inch door out of one box: one HA8-LP low profile operator, two square 4.5 inch push plates, two surface mount boxes, two 900 MHz wireless transmitters, one 900 MHz receiver, plus the install manual and decals. The wireless actuation means you are not running low voltage wire back from the push plates to the header. You still need 115VAC power at the header and whatever door prep and hardware the opening itself calls for.
2) Is the W9-205 Record USA kit the left hand pull arm version, and what do I order for a right hand or push side door?
W9-205 is the EZ36 kit with the HA8-LP operator in clear, set up as a pull arm, left hand. Record USA breaks the arm configuration out by part number: W9-200 is clear push, W9-210 is clear pull right hand, and W9-215 is clear with a universal arm if you would rather not commit to a hand. Bronze runs the same four ways as W9-220 push, W9-225 pull LH, W9-230 pull RH, and W9-235 universal arm.
3) The Record HA8-LP is called non-handed but the kit lists LH and RH pull arms. Which part actually determines handing?
The operator itself is non-handed, so the same HA8-LP body works on either hand of door. What is handed is the arm package. A pull arm has to be ordered for the hand of the opening, which is why LH and RH are separate part numbers, and the universal arm kits (W9-215 clear, W9-235 bronze) exist for jobs where you want one part on the truck for both. Push arm kits do not split by hand.
4) Is the Record HA8-LP fire rated, and is it listed for automatic door operation?
