The EZ36 kit is built around a 36 inch door and ships complete: one HA8-LP (or HA9) low profile operator, two square 4.5 inch push plates, two surface mount boxes, two 900 MHz wireless transmitters, one 900 MHz receiver, and the install manual and decals. You pick the operator, push or pull arm, and the color. Nothing else has to be sourced to get an actuated opening running.
2) Do I have to order a left hand or right hand version of the Record HA8-LP operator?
The operator itself is non-handed, so one unit serves either swing. Handing shows up in the arm, not the header: the push arm part numbers (W9-200 clear, W9-220 bronze) are non-handed, while the pull arm versions are handed, W9-205 clear LH and W9-210 clear RH, W9-225 bronze LH and W9-230 bronze RH. If you would rather not sort handing at the counter, the universal arm kits are W9-215 in clear and W9-235 in bronze.
3) Is the Record HA8-LP auto operator UL listed for use on a fire rated door?

It comes down to which side of the door the header sits on relative to the swing. The push arm drives the door away from the operator and is non-handed, which is why W9-200 and W9-220 carry no LH or RH suffix. A pull arm is used when the operator has to pull the door toward it, and those are handed, so you order LH or RH. If the opening is being surveyed by someone else or you are stocking spares across a building, the universal arm kit (W9-215 clear, W9-235 bronze) covers either condition from one part number.
8) Is the Record HA8-LP heavy enough duty for a busy entrance, or should I look at something else?
