Center conductor size is not a limit, it accepts all. If you are holding RG-6, the jacket will be too large and you need an RG-6 F connector instead.

You strip the cable, fold the braid back, and twist the connector on clockwise until the white dielectric sits flush with the bottom of the nut. 3) How do I prep the coax for a twist-on F connector like the 84-018?
Use the industry standard 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch strip: 1/4 inch of jacket back, 1/4 inch of dielectric and center conductor exposed, then fold the braid back over the jacket before twisting the connector on. 4) Can I use these F connectors outdoors on a dish or aerial drop?
No. The 84-018 is specified for indoor video applications. For an exterior drop or a dish mast, use a weather-rated compression F connector with a boot, not a twist-on.
