4) Can I use the ROFU 3450 on a fire rated door?
Fail-safe strikes unlock on power loss, which is the opposite of what a fire door assembly requires, so the 3450 is not the part for a labeled fire door. For those openings use a fire rated strike such as the Von Duprin 4211 (Grade 1, fire rated, for cylindrical locks), the Hager 2930 fire rated Grade 1 for cylindrical and mortise locks, or the Adams Rite 7240 fire rated strike for cylindrical locksets.
5) My opening is an aluminum storefront jamb - is the ROFU 3450 the right strike or is there a better fit?
The ROFU 3450 has a stainless steel corrosion-resistant faceplate suitable for hollow metal, aluminum or wood frames and fits the A115.1 cutout with slight jamb modification. If you want a strike purpose-built for aluminum jambs, the Adams Rite 7100 Series is made for aluminum jambs with a flat 1-1/4 inch x 4-7/8 inch faceplate, and the Adams Rite 7160 uses the same 1-1/4 inch x 4-7/8 inch faceplate for aluminum jambs. For hollow metal and wood jambs specifically, the Adams Rite 7170 carries that same faceplate size.
6) I need a Grade 1 heavy duty strike - does the ROFU 3450 qualify or should I look at another model?

8) My power supply is AC, not DC - can I still use the ROFU 3450?
The ROFU 3450 is supplied in 12 VDC and 24 VDC. If your source is AC, the Trine 004 runs on 8-16VAC as a fail-secure strike with a 6-1/4 inch x 1-3/8 inch faceplate and up to 5/8 inch throw, and the Trine 2001 runs 16-24VAC/DC fail secure with a 5-7/8 inch x 1-1/4 inch faceplate and up to 5/8 inch throw. Both are fire rated and both differ from the 3450 in faceplate size, so the frame prep will not carry over directly.
9) Does the ROFU 3450 electric strike need to be ordered handed?
No handing to specify. The 3450 is reversible and non-handed, so one part covers left and right hand openings. That makes it easier to stock as a spare across a building where the doors swing both ways.
