1) Does the Sargent 072 mortise cylinder come with a core, or is it housing only?
Housing only. The Sargent 072 mortise IC cylinder housing ships without a core, so you specify and order the KESO F1 large format interchangeable core separately. That is deliberate on interchangeable core jobs: the housing goes in the lock, and the core is keyed into whatever existing key system the building already runs.
2) Will a small format interchangeable core fit the Sargent 072 housing?
No. The 072 housing is built for Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) cores in a 6-pin configuration. A small format figure-8 core will not seat in it. If your building is standardized on SFIC, this is the wrong housing for you.
3) What does KESO F1 mean on this Sargent cylinder housing, and do I need special keys for it?
KESO F1 is Sargent's patented key control platform, used where unauthorized key duplication has to be shut down.
