SATCO Lighting S11561 9W, LED Direct Wire, Low Profile Downlight, 4in Square, Starfish IOT, Tunable White and RGB, 120V, 90 CRI

Wet location rated, so it can go over a tub or shower and in a covered exterior soffit where it will see moisture. Satco lists it as an indoor fixture, so for exterior soffits treat it as suitable only where the ceiling is fully covered and not directly weather exposed. It carries cETLus certification for both US and Canadian jobs.

One part number covers the whole range. Color temperature is selectable from 2000K to 5000K, so the same fixture goes warm amber for hospitality or 4000K neutral for a corridor without stocking separate SKUs. It also does RGB color, and at 90 CRI the white output is high enough for retail, healthcare, and anywhere finish colors need to read correctly. For a property manager standardizing across a building, that means one item on the shelf for every space.

The S11561 uses Satco's Starfish IOT platform, which is built into the fixture itself, so control runs through the fixture rather than a separate lighting controller. It is also dimmable on a standard 120V circuit, so it will still function on a conventional wall dimmer if a space is not being commissioned onto the app. Operating frequency is 60Hz.

California T24 Listed, so it can be specified on Title 24 jobs in California. It is also RoHS compliant and FCC compliant, the latter mattering here because the fixture is a wireless connected device. Certification is cETLus.

The S11561 is square, 5.04 inches across the face, in a white finish. Square trims read cleanly next to square air diffusers and grid ceilings and are the usual pick when a designer has specified square throughout. If the existing openings in the ceiling are round, this is the wrong shape to blend in and you want a round 4 inch low profile unit instead. White is the only finish offered on this model.

The body is aluminum, which is what carries heat away from the LED in a fixture only an inch deep. Satco publishes full thermal and installation requirements on the spec sheet at https://media.satco.com/specsheets/pdf/S11561.pdf, and the instruction sheet covers the junction box connection.
