The S11878 is a 4-inch low-profile retrofit downlight measuring 4.92 inches in diameter with a 1.57 inch height, so the trim overlaps a nominal 4-inch opening and the shallow body drops into an existing 4-inch housing. The integrated LED means there is no lamp to install and no socket adapter to match; the fixture is the light source.

Color temperature is selectable on the fixture itself across 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K, so one part number covers every white you would spec. That is the reason to use it on a multi-building or multi-phase job: stock one SKU, then set warm 2700K in residential units and 4000K or 5000K in corridors, garages and back-of-house. Wattage is not selectable, it is fixed at 11W.

Damp location rated, which covers bathrooms, kitchens, covered porches and soffits where the fixture sees humidity but no direct water. It is not wet rated, so keep it out of showers, open eaves and anywhere it can take direct rain or spray. For a shower trim you need a wet-listed downlight instead.

Title 24 compliant, which matters if you are permitting work in California; a non-compliant fixture fails inspection on residential and many commercial retrofits. It also carries cETLus listing, so it is recognized for both US and Canadian installs, and it is RoHS and FCC compliant.

The downlight dims and runs on 120 volts at 60Hz, pulling 11 watts. At 11W each you can load a lot of them on one 15A branch circuit, which is what makes a full-floor corridor or unit retrofit practical without pulling new circuits. It needs a compatible forward or reverse phase LED dimmer; standard incandescent dimmers can flicker or buzz on low-wattage LED loads.

Directional means the optic aims, so you point light at a wall, artwork, a merchandise run or a work surface rather than washing straight down. A standard fixed low-profile wafer is the right pick for even general ceiling coverage in a corridor or a unit. Pick the S11878 where you need the beam off vertical, and use both on the same job if the ceiling has both accent and general zones.

Rated 50,000 hours. On a corridor or stairwell running 24/7 that is about 5.7 years; on a 12-hour-a-day commercial schedule it is over 11 years. The LED is integrated, so there is no lamp to change in the meantime, which is the point for a property manager tracking relamping labor across a building.

The body is aluminum, which sinks LED heat rather than trapping it the way a plastic housing does, and the round trim measures H:1.57 inch by DIA:4.92 inch. Aluminum plus a damp rating is what makes it usable in a parking garage ceiling or an unconditioned corridor. Heat handling is the part that decides whether an LED downlight actually reaches its rated life in a tight cavity.

White only, part number S11878. If you are matching a floor of existing white 4-inch trims it drops right in visually; if the building is standardized on black, bronze or brushed nickel trims, this one will not match and you want a different finish downlight.
