SATCO Lighting S29430 12.5W, PAR30LN LED, 2700K, 40 degree Beam Angle, Medium Base, 120V

The S29430 is a PAR30LN, the long neck version. Long neck and short neck PAR30 lamps share the same head diameter and the same medium base, but the LN has a longer body between the base and the face. Long neck is what most recessed housings and track fixtures are built around; short neck exists for shallow cans where the longer body would push the lens past the trim. If the fixture came out of the box calling for a PAR30 short neck, the LN may sit proud of the trim.

2700K is warm white, the same color tone as an incandescent lamp. That makes the S29430 a match for apartment units, lobbies, restaurants, and guest rooms where you want the light to look soft and yellow. For an office, retail floor, or back of house where crews expect a neutral or cool white, 2700K will read noticeably warmer than the 3000K or 4000K lamps typically spec'd there. If you are relamping part of a building, match the Kelvin to what is already in the adjacent fixtures or the difference will be obvious from the corridor.

40 degrees is a flood beam. On the S29430 that gives a broad, soft-edged pool of light, which is what you want for general downlighting in recessed cans, corridor lighting, and washing a seating area. It is not a spot: if you are trying to punch a tight accent onto artwork, signage, or a merchandising display, a narrow beam lamp in the 10 to 25 degree range does that job and this one will not.

At 12.5 watts the S29430 draws a fraction of what a halogen PAR30 pulls, and that is the point of the swap. On a floor with a lot of cans it also cuts the connected load, which matters if you are relamping a whole building on the existing circuits. The one thing to check before you standardize on it is the fixture's own lamp rating and any dimmer already on the circuit, since older magnetic and incandescent dimmers do not always behave with LED lamps.

One configuration only: clear finish, 2700K, 40 degree beam, medium base, 120V, ordered as S29430. If a job calls for a different Kelvin or a tighter beam on the same PAR30LN body, that is a separate Satco part number rather than an option on this one.
