Metallics HKEF7M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics HKEF7M a metric or inch hex key set?
Metric. The HKEF7M is a 7 piece Ergo-Fold key set in metric sizes, so it drives metric hex socket fasteners. If the set screws, terminal lugs or enclosure hardware you are working on take inch (SAE) hex keys, this is the wrong set and you want the inch version of the Ergo-Fold instead.
2) How many keys come in the Metallics HKEF7M Ergo-Fold set, and is it sold individually?
Seven keys, held in one folding Ergo-Fold handle, and it ships as a single set (1 pc) rather than a multi-pack. One order gets one complete tool, not seven loose keys.
3) What is a folding hex key set like the Metallics HKEF7M used for on an electrical job?
It is a hand tool for metric hex socket hardware, the kind found on lug set screws, grounding connectors, strut fittings and enclosure hardware. The folding body keeps all seven keys on one handle so nothing drops into a ceiling or a trench, and the handle gives more leverage than a loose L key. Metallics catalogues it on the electrical side of the house alongside their fastener line.
