Metallics HKEF8T – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics HKEF8T hex key set metric or inch sizes?
Metric. The HKEF8T Ergo-Fold set is the metric version, so it drives metric socket-head and set screws. If your fasteners are SAE/inch hex, this is the wrong set and you need an inch-size fold-up key set instead.
2) What does the Metallics HKEF8T set include?
The HKEF8T is a 7-piece folding hex key set in metric sizes, sold one set per pack. The keys fold into the handle body rather than coming loose, so the set stays together in a pouch or bag.
3) Will a folding hex key set work for electrical panel and fixture set screws?
That is what the Metallics HKEF8T is aimed at. It is an electrical-trade fastener tool, and the folding format suits service work where you are driving metric hex set screws on lugs, fixture mounts, and fittings and do not want seven loose keys in the bag. For deep-recessed or high-torque fasteners, a long-arm or T-handle key gives better reach and leverage than a fold-up handle.
