Metallics HKHL9M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics HKHL9M hex key set metric or inch sizes?
Metric. The HKHL9M is a 9 piece Hex-L key set in metric sizes, so it's the one to grab for metric socket set screws and cap screws. If the fasteners on your job are inch/fractional, a metric set won't seat properly and you want an SAE Hex-L set instead.
2) How many keys come in the Metallics HKHL9M set, and is it sold as one set?
Nine keys in the set, and it ships as a single unit (1 pc), so one order line gets you the complete metric Hex-L set rather than individual wrenches.
3) What are Hex-L keys used for on electrical work?
Hex-L keys are the L shaped hex wrenches used to drive socket head set screws, the kind found on lug and mechanical connector set screws, strut fittings, and panel and enclosure hardware. The HKHL9M covers metric sizes, which is what you need where the gear is metric spec. The long leg gives reach into a box or gutter; the short leg gives torque.
4) What is the Metallics part number to order for the metric 9 piece hex key set?
Order it as Metallics HKHL9M. That is the manufacturer part number for the 9 piece metric Hex-L key set, and it is the only configuration offered under that number.
