The SDC 350 Series is a narrow-profile, surface-mount electromagnetic lock rated at 1,200 lbs of holding force. At 2-11/16" projection into the opening, it fits narrow-frame and high-profile doorways where a standard maglock's 3.5" body will not clear. Fail-safe operation releases automatically on power loss or fire alarm signal. Selectable 12/24 VDC input with voltage and current spike protection allows integration into existing access control systems without a dedicated power supply change.

1) SDC 350 or 352 - which model do I order for a pair of doors?
The 352 is the double version of the SDC 350 Series narrow maglock and the 350 is the single. Both are surface mounted and both are rated for swing doors, single or double, so the choice comes down to how many leaves you are locking under one header. One 352 covers the pair; the 350 covers a single opening. Everything else is the same between them: 1,200 lbs of holding force, 12/24 VDC, aluminum body, and the bond and door position monitoring built in.
2) Will a 1200 lb maglock fit under the shallow header on a narrow frame aluminum entrance?
That is the case the SDC 350 Series was built for. It projects 2-11/16 inches into the opening, where a conventional surface maglock housing runs up to 3.5 inches. On a storefront or glass front entrance with a narrow stile and a shallow header, those extra inches are what force a filler plate or a visible box over the door. Measure the depth you have to work with against 2-11/16 inches. If the header is deeper than that and looks are not a concern, a standard-profile maglock will do the same job.
3) What happens to the SDC 350 electromagnetic lock when the power drops?
It releases and the door is free. The 350 Series is fail-safe, and there is no battery inside the lock, so it holds only while it is energized. Cut power at the fire alarm interface, hit a release button, or lose the building supply, and the magnet lets go. That is inherent to how an electromagnetic lock works, not a shortcoming of this one. If the opening has to stay locked through an outage, you want a mechanical lock or a fail-secure electric strike on it instead, not a maglock.
4) Can I swap an old Locknetics 350+ magnetic lock for the SDC 350 without redoing the frame?

No. The 350 Series is rated for swing doors only, single or double, and it surface mounts at the head. A sliding leaf needs a shear-style or sliding-application magnetic lock, because a surface maglock at the head has nothing to bond against once the leaf travels. Same answer for overhead and roll-up doors.
9) How much of a job is it to hang an SDC 350 maglock - is it a two-person install?
One person.
