SECURITRON FMK FLEX-MOUNT GATE LOCK BRACKET KITS
The FMK Flex-Mount Bracket System is an intuitive set of mounting brackets designed exclusively for use with the M62FG Magnalock® and the GL1 Gate Lock. Pre-formed post channels and plates of varying lengths make it easy for you to assemble a professional looking, highsecurity gate lock mounting platform in minutes, without special tools.
Post Shim Brackets are used to adapt both small and large Post Brackets to pole/post sizes smaller than 2" or 3" respectively in 1/8" increments - 1-7/8", 1-3/4", 1-5/8" 2-7/8", 2-3/4", 2-5/8", etc.
When more than two shims are used together on a single post, welding the bracket to the pole/post is recommended.
All necessary mounting hardware including four Post Shims is included with each Flex-Mount Kit.

1) Which Securitron FMK kit do I need for a sliding gate versus a swing gate?
Two kits, split by gate action. FMK-SL is the Flex-Mount kit for a sliding gate; FMK-SW is the Flex-Mount kit for a swing gate. Both mount the same locks (the M62FG Magnalock and the GL1 Gate Lock), so pick by how the gate moves, then check your post separation, because the two kits work over different gaps.
2) What post separation will the Securitron Flex-Mount gate lock brackets work over?
It depends on the kit and the lock. FMK-SL works with the GL1 where post separation is between 1 inch and 3-3/4 inches. With the M62FG Magnalock, FMK-SL covers 1 inch to 3-3/4 inches without the Shock Absorbing Strike Mount, and 1 inch to 2-1/4 inches when the SASM is used. FMK-SW works with either the M62FG or the GL1 where separation is between 1 inch and 2-3/4 inches. Measure the gap between gate post and fence post before you order.
3) Will the Securitron FMK brackets fit a post smaller than 2 inches?
Yes, with shims. The Post Shim Brackets adapt both the small and large Post Brackets down from 2 inches and 3 inches respectively, in 1/8 inch increments: 1-7/8, 1-3/4, 1-5/8 and 2-7/8, 2-3/4, 2-5/8 and so on. Four post shims come in every Flex-Mount kit. If you end up stacking more than two shims on a single post, Securitron recommends welding the bracket to the pole instead of relying on the bolted stack.
4) Do I need to buy extra mounting hardware with a Securitron Flex-Mount gate lock kit?
No. All necessary mounting hardware, including four post shims, ships with each Flex-Mount kit. Post brackets come pre-drilled and the lock and strike brackets come pre-tapped, so the kit assembles without special tools. What the kit does not include is the lock itself: order the M62FG Magnalock or the GL1 Gate Lock separately.
5) Can I order just the post shims for a Securitron Flex-Mount bracket without buying a whole kit?
Yes. FMB9-4 is a post shim kit for Flex-Mount brackets, sold as a set of four. That is the part to order if you already have the brackets up and the post turned out to be undersized, or if you need to step a post down further than the four shims that came in the original kit allowed.
6) Can the Securitron Flex-Mount brackets be welded instead of bolted to the gate posts?
Either way works. The Flex-Mount system bolts on, or the entire system can be welded. A common approach is to bolt it up first, use the adjustability to set the lock and strike position exactly where you want it, then weld once you are satisfied. Welding is specifically recommended when more than two shims are stacked on a single post.
7) Will Securitron Flex-Mount gate brackets hold up outdoors on a perimeter gate?
The brackets are 8 inch tall by 3/16 inch thick zinc-plated steel, which is what gives them their durability on an exterior gate. Zinc plating is the corrosion barrier and the 3/16 inch plate is what lets a magnetic gate lock be pulled against it without the mount flexing. These are commercial-duty parts, not a light-duty residential mount.
8) Can I mount the electronics on the gate post instead of the fence post with the Securitron FMK system?
Yes, either one. The Flex-Mount system permits the electronics to be mounted on either the fence post or the gate post, and the lock and strike brackets are reversible, which doubles the mounting variations available to you. That matters on a gate where cable routing or the swing direction pushes the lock to the side you were not planning on.
9) What is the GMC gate lock mortise cylinder for on a Securitron gate lock?
GMC is the gate lock mortise cylinder, the keyed cylinder that goes into the GL1 Gate Lock for mechanical key override. It is ordered alongside the Flex-Mount bracket hardware rather than being part of the bracket kit itself, so if the job calls for key access at the gate, add it to the order.
10) Do I need special tools to install a Securitron Flex-Mount gate lock bracket kit?
No special tools. The pre-formed post channels and plates come in varying lengths, post brackets arrive pre-drilled and the lock and strike brackets pre-tapped, so the platform assembles in minutes with hand tools.
