1) Which Securitron Magnalocks do these dress covers fit?
The Securitron dress covers fit the M32, M38, M62, M68 and M82 Magnalocks. The cover is model-specific, so order it to match the lock body you have on the door: a DC-32 goes on an M32, a DC-62 on an M62, a DC-82 on an M82, and so on. They are not interchangeable between lock sizes.
2) How do Securitron dress covers mount? Do I have to drill the door or frame?
No drilling. The covers install with foam adhesive tape, so they go on over an already mounted Magnalock without touching the header or the door. That makes them workable on an existing installation without pulling the lock down.
3) What exact part number do I order for a black anodized cover on an M62?
DC-62BK. The numbering runs model then finish: DC-32BK, DC-32BP, DC-32CL and DC-32SP for the M32; DC-62BK/BP/CL/SP for the M62; DC-82BK/BP/CL/SP for the M82. The M38 and M68 covers are listed as DC-38SP and DC-68SP.
4) What does a Magnalock dress cover actually do?
It is a trim housing that slips over the magnet body to hide the raw lock casing and the mounting hardware, giving the opening a finished look that matches the rest of the door hardware. It is an installation accessory, not an electrical part. It adds no holding force and does not change how the maglock operates.
5) What finishes do the M32, M62 and M82 dress covers come in?
Four: Black Anodized (BK), Brass Polished (BP), Clear Anodized (CL) and Stainless Polished (SP). For a building where you are standardizing the look across several openings, clear anodized and stainless polished read closest to a typical aluminum or brushed-steel door package, black anodized suits dark storefront framing, and brass polished matches brass trim.
6) I have a pair of doors with two Magnalocks on one header. Will one of these cover both?
No. These are single dress covers, one per lock body. For a pair of doors with two magnets under a single header, Securitron makes a double dress cover instead.
7) Are these Securitron covers rated for commercial door use?
They are commercial grade hardware, carrying a Grade 1 designation and catalogued with the Durable Magnalock line. That is the tier typically specified for high traffic openings in institutional, healthcare, education and multi-family buildings.
8) Does the dress cover need any wiring or power?
None. The cover is a trim piece for an electromagnetic lock, so it sits in an electronic access control system, but the cover itself has no wiring, no connections and draws no current. All power and wiring stays with the Magnalock underneath.
