Yes, the gland ships with a tie. The tie cinches the neoprene sleeve down onto the cable jacket so the cable cannot be pulled back through the opening, which is what turns a plain grommet into a strain-relieving gland.

Neoprene, in black. That gives you a flexible elastomeric seal around the cable rather than a rigid plastic body, so it grips and cushions the jacket where it passes through a sheet metal hole.

A neoprene grommet gland like the T&B 7401 through 7404 drops into a plain round knockout, needs no threads and no locknut, and relies on the supplied tie for strain relief. A threaded cord connector is what you want when the enclosure has a tapped hub, when you need a rated liquid-tight seal, or when the cable will see repeated pulling. For general panel and box entries where you are protecting the jacket from a sheet metal edge and keeping the cable from sliding, the grommet gland is the faster install.

Order by hole size. The body size is fixed per part number, 16mm, 19mm, 25mm or 32mm, so measure the knockout or drilled opening and match it. An undersized gland will not seat and an oversized one will not seal.

These are metric bodies, 16, 19, 25 and 32mm. Metric 16mm and 25mm sit close to the common 1/2 inch and 1 inch trade knockouts but they are not the same dimension, so measure the actual opening before ordering rather than assuming a trade-size swap.
